“Let my vindication come from Your presence; let Your eyes look on the things that are upright. You have tested my heart; You have visited me in the night…”

“Uphold my steps in Your paths, that my footsteps may not slip. I have called upon You, for You will hear me, O God; incline Your ear to me, and hear my speech. Show Your marvelous lovingkindness by Your right hand, O You who save those who trust in You from those who rise up against them. Keep me as the apple of Your eye; hide me under the shadow of Your wings…”

“As for me, I will see Your face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied when I awake in Your likeness.” Psalms 17:2-3, 5-8, 15 NKJV

“How enriched are they who find their strength in the Lord, within their hearts are the highways of holiness!” Psalms 84:5 TPT
I can’t say that I enjoy trials and tribulation but I’m grateful for the opportunities they provide to learn more about the character Christ and more about myself.

I allow a certain amount of margin, believe myself to be open hearted and handed, and flexible. I wear my robes loosely, write all my plans down in pencil. But what’s my response when everything goes sideways? When pain puts the squeeze on my heart and injustice whispers loudly.
Disappointing things happen all the time. I’d like to think I’m a ‘glass half full’ type of gal but it’s interesting to note they basically expose the same sorts of issues.

I find myself repeating this phrase, “_______________ is not my shelter.”
I’ve been surprised by the number of occasions at the places I’ll run to when feeling in need of comfort and distraction. A lot is exposed by how I fill in the blank of any question.
LORD, You are my Refuge!

I spy with my little eye…

…something meant to encourage me! The Wisest of Loves speaks of trees, The Tree, promises and faith…and Sanctuary.
He affectionately points out to me the building of a nest and the best place it ought to be.

“O Lord of Heaven’s Armies, my King and my God, even the sparrows and swallows are welcome to build a nest among Your altars…” Psalms 84:3 TPT

Praise be unto the LORD, my Anchor, my Rock, my Refuge and Mighty Fortress! How profound the thought that One so pure and holy would be willing to bestow those same said qualities upon one such as me.

You provide everything I need and work to remind me every day!

A ‘little something’ best kept and carried in my right hand pocket!

Along with the few other ‘finds’ You take the time and care to point out!
“May the LORD bless you and keep you; may the LORD causes His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; may the LORD lift up His countenance toward you and give you peace.” Numbers 6:24-26 BSB
