“God corrects us throughout our lives for our own good,
giving us an invitation to share His holiness.”
Hebrews 12:10 TPT

Today is a blessing!
With an inward turn that begins a fresh page
I am inspired to partake in a quiet sacrament, Communion.
I will drink from the cup and eat the bread.
I have a lot to be thankful for, even more to celebrate!
“As for us, we have
all of these great witnesses
who encircle us like clouds.
So we must let go of every wound
that has pierced us
and the sin we so easily fall into.
Then we will be able to
run life’s marathon race
with passion and determination,
for the path has been already
marked out before us.”
Hebrews 12:1 TPT
I’ve allowed a lot of my own insecurities to rob me.
Feeding wrong thoughts led to a feeding frenzy.
The wrong voice took over, began to dictate to me.
In my sorrow I looked back, forgot what You said,
but I don’t want to end up the way Lot’s wife did!
What once was is now gone forever.
One day I might be able to thank You.
I pray that day might come sooner than later.
For right now the most important thing is to focus.
You hold me by the hand and are guiding,
even though I could not guess nor foresee this direction.
“We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus,
the champion who initiates and perfects our faith.
Because of the joy of knowing you would be His,
He endured the agony of the cross, disregarding its shame.
and now sits exalted at the right hand of the throne of God.”
Hebrews 12:2 NLT/TPT
Sometimes we have to move on without understanding.
It just takes me a while to sort that out
because I tend to forget!
“Now all discipline seems to be painful at the time,
yet later it will produce a transformation of character,
bringing a harvest of righteousness and peace
to those who yield to it.”
Hebrews 12:11 TPT
I much rather prefer tidier borders,
clear cut lines, with organized compartments,
but am always amazed in the wake of a shake up
and am left marveling at the exceeding excellence of revelation!

“You have come to the assembly
of God’s firstborn children,
whose names are written in heaven.
You have come to God Himself,
Who is the judge over all things.
You have come to the spirits
of the righteous ones in heaven
who have now been made perfect.
You have come to Jesus,
the One Who mediates the new covenant
between God and people,
and to the sprinkled blood,
which speaks of forgiveness
instead of crying out for vengeance
like the blood of Abel.”
Hebrews 12:23-24 NLT
Even when You tell me up front, in advance,
I find I still have much to learn
by walking it out and following the map.
There’s a intricate process behind the letting of go.
Thank You for guiding me thru it.
Thank You for this season of ‘making me’,
though I certainly would not have called it easy.
As with Abraham You provide the sacrifice!
Thank You for steadfast leadership!
Thank You for Your Body the Church!
Thank You for the love of a very large Family!
Thank You for Holy Spirit Who makes me fit!
“So be made strong even in your weakness
by lifting up your tired hands in prayer and worship.
And strengthen your weak knees,
for as you keep walking forward on God’s paths
all your stumbling ways will be divinely healed!”
Hebrews 12:12-13 TPT

Lord, I no longer want to waste time and energy
worrying about what other people are
saying, or doing, or thinking about me.
I have a much better choice to make!
Keep me focused on You!
The most important thing…
Fill my eyes with Your view!
Don’t allow me to dwell on all the mistakes.
Each of us exists within the realm
of abundant, lavish grace.
Iron sharpens iron, yes,
a mixed metal,
both strong and weak.
“In every relationship
be swift to choose peace over competition,
and run swiftly toward holiness,
for those who are not holy
will not see the Lord.”
Hebrews 12:14 TPT

You’re the One Who’s
continually skimming dross.
Lord, You see and know
every area of my heart!
I really and truly want to
better know Yours!
May I look forward and patiently wait!
Be quick to extend mercy and kindness
with a boldness that puts all the bad behind us!
May I not be overly inclined to fret
when it comes to claimed
or unclaimed territories yet!
May I not rush things
not clearly defined!
You are a great big God!
Bigger than anything
I’ll ever come across!
“You have not come
to a physical mountain,
to a place of flaming fire, darkness,
gloom, and whirlwind,
as the Israelites did at Mount Sinai.
For they heard an awesome trumpet blast
and a voice so terrible
that they begged God to stop speaking.
They staggered back under God’s command….
Moses himself was so frightened at the sight
that he said, “I am terrified and trembling.””
Hebrews 12:18-21 NLT
No more getting my knickers in a knot
when You, oh God, are not stymied
nor are You limited
by any shaky situation,
fluctuating term,
or rotten attitude.
You possess ALL the Power of One!
Your purpose and Your will
never become sidelined!
And when we’re inclined
to misunderstand
or are slow to change,
there is comfort and tremendous peace
in knowing that You are God
and that You never abdicate Your throne!
No man or otherworldly creature
can knock You off!
You operate irrevocably
within the completeness
of Your Own way
and in Your Own time frame,
drawing me inexorably closer
every day!
“Watch over each other
to make sure that no one misses
the revelation of God’s grace.
And make sure no one lives
with a root of bitterness
sprouting within them
which will only cause trouble
and poison the hearts of many.”
Hebrews 12:15 TPT

I bow myself low,
cast down any collected crowns.
The most significant mission?
Take this matter to heart!
Allow revision!
Make my heart
entirely Your Home!
“As you endure this divine discipline,
remember that God is treating you as His own children.
Who ever heard of a child who is never disciplined by its father? If God doesn’t discipline you as He does all of His children, it means that you are illegitimate and are not really His children at all.”
Hebrews 12:7-8 NLT
Attentive and patient and very kind You are
when You own more power and authority
than is possible for me to fathom,
yet You are ever mindful
that I am but dust
as You continue to work out
exactly what You will
with forward thrust.
“This means that all of creation will be shaken and removed,
so that only unshakable things will remain.
Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakable,
let us be thankful and please God by worshiping Him
with holy fear and awe.
For our God is a devouring fire.”
Hebrews 12:27-29 NLT
