Precious Jesus; Blessed Savior
Lover of my soul —
Beloved, thru You the world is crucified to me
and I and my flesh to the world.
(Galatians 6:14)
In February of 2017 I was approached by a couple of ladies in the home Bible study group my husband and I were regularly attending and asked if I would consider composing lyrics that might possibly be set to music. They were both members of the church worship team and it was thru this invitation I learned of a little campus competition going on. A music cd was in the making and a hunt for lyrics was on. I told them I’d think about it. Then one evening, while my husband fixed dinner, I sat in my prayer chair and penciled these words. The lines above were inspired by Galatians. At the time I imagined them as being the chorus. Out of that flowed the following verses. To my knowledge they have never been set to any music and as I share this post I find myself editing a place or two. Until that moment in time I’d never considered writing. Now I can’t imagine what it would feel like to never have experienced the joy. Godspeed to each of you in your own journey. You never know when you yourself might be greeted with a new opportunity…nor will you be able to imagine the place to which stepping out in faith will lead.
You search the deepest parts of me,
all I am fully exposed to Your gaze;
Thru Your Word reveal things I do not yet know
lead me in the Everlasting Way!
Far be it for me to glory
in any other motive, or deed, or person,
Except in the cross You bore for my sake,
to release me from sin’s dark, terrible prison!
My rebellion, the scourge that stripped flesh from Your bone;
my own mental torments and insecurities, pierced Your brow.
My addictions, a heavy flow, mixed with Your Blood;
You sacrificed Your all, to offer forgiveness right now!
No other thing of greater importance!
A new creation I’ve now become!
Birthed and baptized with power thru Your Holy Spirit;
Father and Son, and He — yes, we— are made one!
Every day Filled with Resurrection Power,
the Radiance of My Glorious King!
He will not fail, nor allow me to falter,
as eternal Hosanna’s, forever, I sing!
“But God, Who is rich in mercy, because of His great love that He had for us, made us alive with the Messiah even though we were dead in trespasses. You are saved by grace!” Ephesians 2:4-5 HCSB
I’d like to end this post by sharing a point of remembrance experienced during worship service yesterday. Melded in the mix between the wrap of ‘Run to the Father’ and the opening strains of ‘Fresh Wind’ began playing…a deep, sonic boom was heard in my spirit! I feared becoming a spectacle in the wake of such. I honestly thought I was going to simply collapse and crumble to the floor, and was somewhat surprised when I didn’t. Perhaps my fear was a hinderance to something greater. Father knows my heart as I press on in the matter. For now I have three photographs to share of a rather rustic account of the Vision that revisited. The search for its original documentation took some time. How true, it is when we’re told it’s not just about the destination but the journey! The walk down memory lane as I sorted thru in the archives of some of my olden day writing proved quite encouraging! I pray it will be for you as well.

“Together with Christ Jesus He also raised us up and seated us in the heavens, so that in the coming ages He might display the immeasurable riches of His grace through His kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift — not from works, so that no one can boast. For we are His creation, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time so that we should walk in them.”
Ephesians 2:6-10 HCSB
