Honestly, I can be such a puzzle at times! I’ll say one thing, absolutely believe and mean it…only to become completely surprised in the next instant… by the exact same thing I just said I believed in!
How crazy is that?!
Can you relate?
For instance this morning …hear my heart as I share this…because it’s intended to be an offering, most definitely not me blowing my trumpet…As the Sweetest Hours draw to a close every fiber of my being becomes aware of a Presence with me, here in the room. Eyes still closed, I quietly marvel, and find myself saying out loud, “It feels like You’re right here with me.” A low rumble that sounds like a deep chested chuckle is followed by a rather short sentence….and my closed eyes fly wide open!
“That’s because I Am.”
Startled and a bit surprised, I immediately feel embarrassed! Of…of course, You are! Why else would I have been talking to You? Could I not in this Moment have thought of something more spiritual to say than that?!
I got to thinking about it in the telling silence that followed.
Perhaps not.
Perhaps these are the words, You truly long to hear. Why else would it be written that You will draw near? Simple words from the heart, earnestly expressed. Are they not the beautiful language of Faith?
“Come near to God and He will come near to you…” James 4:8 EASY
Thank You, GOD, for THAT! …thank You, LORD, for THIS!
“Blessed are those whose strength is in You, whose hearts are set on pilgrimage.
As they pass through the Valley of Baca (weeping), they make it a place of springs;
even the autumn rain covers it with pools.
They go from strength to strength, until each appears before GOD in Zion.”
Better is one day in Your courts than a thousand elsewhere!
