🎶 Do Your Ears Hang Low?

🎶 Do Your Ears Hang Low?

Do they wobble to and fro?
Can you tie ‘em in a knot?
Can you tie ‘em in a bow?
Can you throw ‘em o’er your soldier
Like a Continental soldier?
Do your ears hang low? 🎶

(The origin of this is believed to be a soldier’s song
whose vulgar lyrics have been sanitized and turned into
a novelty sing-a-long.)

I comprehend my vulnerability in this moment.
I’m not certain which would be more beneficial,
writing this post… or giving up and giving in to sleep.

“Be gracious to me, God, be gracious to me, for I take refuge in You.
I will seek refuge in the shadow of Your wings until danger passes.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭57‬:‭1‬ ‭HCSB‬‬

LORD, surround me with Your Fiery Hedge of protection!
Be a safe place for me to hide myself from my enemies!
Grant me wisdom and direction! In Jesus’ name…amen.

“I call to God Most High, to God who fulfills His purpose for me.
He reaches down from heaven and saves me, challenging the one
who tramples me. Selah”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭57‬:‭2‬-‭3‬ ‭HCSB‬‬

Amid the rounds of a recurring challenge
the taunts of Goliath echo throughout the whole valley!
I feel despondent and a bit paralyzed right now
but here’s where I sling back,
“My God is WAY greater than you are!
Wake up, my soul, and sing with confidence!
“God sends His faithful love and truth.”
Goliath doesn’t have a future!

Look up, eyes! Look up!
From where does my help come from?
The One whose name supersedes everything!
HIS is the Truth that will ever win out!

He’s the true hero of my story! To Him I defer as the one example worth emulating!
A very different kind of soldier! A very permanent rescue mission!

The Illumination of Wings, as of a Dove; a light to inspire and empower the
heart given to Christ!

HIS, alone, is the transformative power that reveals error, corrects motive,
creates a new heart, reshapes ways of being! Welcome Him in to usher change
and work alignment! He delights to manifest and fulfill God’s promises!

‘Tis the Almighty’s enduring pursuit! May we all be so captivated by His Unique and Holy Passion!

Now may the Lord Jesus Christ and Father God who loves us,
and in His wonderful grace gives us eternal comfort and a beautiful hope
that cannot fail, encourage your heart and inspire you with strength
to always do and speak what is good and beautiful in His eyes.
